Slogans and Sayings
On another thread someone wrote "Holding on to a resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die." 
I wanted to start a thread where people can post their favorite sayings or slogans that have helped them in recovery. So, here it is. I think just one ground rule: no more than three per post. That way, we can really enjoy them and take in their meaning.
So, I'll get us started...
In regard to saying something that maybe you shouldn't: "Never miss an opportunity to say nothing."
As far as living one day at a time, but still making plans for the future: "Plan for the future, but let go of the outcome."
and my favorite...
"To err is human but you need to admit it."

My favorite saying (not really sure its a slogan) but saying it helps me a lot. I have anxiety and panic issues . . .

I was reminded of what a close friend of mine has to say about 'the majority.' --- ...just because 'the majority' say something is true (or false) does not necessarily make it so; it could just mean that all the FOOLS are on the same side......... (o:

Noelle, I love it!! I need to be reminded that just because someone says it does not make it true..This is important in all areas of my life not just in regards to addiction.

I love this and keep it in mind always....
Agreeing with you does not make me rigorously honest;
Disagreeing with you does not put me in denial;
Making you mad doesn't make me wrong;
Attacking me doesn't make you right;
Saying it louder doesn't make it right;
Everyone saying it doesn't make it true;
Just me saying it doesn't make it false.
