Get outside yourself - RAOK
We all have problems and worries and sometimes we can get so caught up in them that we can't see the forest for the tress .. I challenge you today to step outside yourself and do a random acts of kindness. You won't believe how an act of kindness committed towards someone else can make a world of difference in the world (not only theirs, but ours!)
RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS
A Few Idea's taken from the web and my own life
-Hold the door for someone with their hands full
-Let someone go in front of you at the check out
-Pay the toll for the car behind you
-Someone short a bit of change on a purchase .. cover it for them
-Buy a cup of coffee/or hot chocolate for a person out in the cold
-Get the mail for an elderly person so they don't slip on the ice
-Start a fund raiser today and donate the money to curesearch.org
-Wake up and call a friend and tell them how much they mean to you
-Take your kids to a retirement community and have your kids share there zest for life with someone that is older
-Write a post on how you plan to change one thing in your neighborhood
-Organize a group to talk about making a change
-Donate 5.00 to a cause you believe in
-Find a person that you never see smile and talk to them.
-Write a letter to the troops in Iraq
-Send a care package to the troops in Iraq
-Become a Big Brother or Big Sister
-Volunteer at your child’s school
-Bake cookies for your coworkers/neighbor
-Do a selfless act
-Volunteer at a homeless shelter
-Get to know someone of a different race
-Write on Helium.com and donate your earnings
-Pay it forward
-Donate a toy to a toy drive
-Adopt a family for Christmas
I know some of these sound cheesy, but maybe they will get you thinking……. just try something, something outrageous, something fun, something different, something that will change a life. Do good for the sake of doing good ~~~BU

It's funny you should post this today.
Earlier while taking my garbage to the dump (yes I live in the boonies, no garbage pickup) there was a man in front of me who had obviously locked his keys in his truck and was trying to get in with a wire to pop the lock open. Well it's snowing, again, and here's this poor man, now there were a lot of other folks there and no one seemed to be paying any attention. So I felt bad for him and asked if he had a spare key at home and did he want a ride to go get it.
I drove him to his house, he got the keys and rode back to the dump, hopefully he had the right keys.
Now before anyone thinks I'm totally crazy, before leaving I said hi to one of my neighbors and said where I was going.
When I dropped the man off I told him now he owed someone else......

Lately Ive had trouble getting outside of myself.
But I called an old friend this morning to see how she was doing. She mentioned wanting to get kids new bikes theres were rusty ect.
I happened to remember my boss had a cool expensive french bike he asked me if my son needed (but son just got a new bike), he was going to donate it somewhere. So I called boss, told her about my friend a single unemployed mom of 4, and waalaa Im taking the bike tomorrow to her oldest son, and I have an extra girls bike since boss hads recently given me 2, one Im bringing at the same time to her older daughter.
In the past she had done so much for me and my kids and I got the opportunity to give back

I gave away a box of chocolate I received at a food exchange game yesterday at a luncheon.
(some lady didn't like what she received...)
(she needs to read this thread...she didn't even say thank you...
