Do I count as a guest, since I only started looking at the newcomer area in the past few days even though I am not a newcomer to either recovery or this forum?

I want to say hi too....:ghug3

Hi I'm new here. I just found this site about an hour ago.

I have to leave for my DD's Christmas concert in an hour or so. I wish I could stay and read some more of these posts. I don't feel so alone now.

I'm a secret drinker. Everyday. It's destroying me. If I didn't have to go to the Christmas concert I would go to the local AA meeting tonight. My hubby is out of town. THere is a meeting tomorrow. I'm nervous.

My DH has been sober for 9 1/2 years and went through AA. I think he has an idea that I've been secretly drinking. I'm going to tell him tonight I want to start AA. I'm so sad and ashamed of myself. Thanks for listening.

Thank you Kevin.

Do I need to make an appt. with the Dr.? If so, what will they do for me?

I drink either one bottle of wine or one six pack of beer per night. I've been at this point for about three months. Prior to that it was about 1/2 bottle of wine a night. Will I have withdrawals?

Phone up and talk to them if you can, maybe contact your local AA office and ask them what to do, they will have better advice for you as they are locals. Many people go ino a short term detox. I guess talking to a Doc and some local A members face to face will help you decide.

Good onya
