How do I get help?
I'm addicted to drugs and alcohol. I've been sober 13 days now. But how do I get help if I don't have money or insurance or a car? I was hit by a car last week while riding my bike so I'm stuck at home. I'm so desperate for help, someone to talk to and who will listen. But I'm all alone. Can AA come to me? Is there counseling online? Please help!
Hi Lonely Girl - I don't live in the US and I'm not a member of AA so I'm not much help really LOL, but I wanted to say welcome.
I'm sure someone will come along here before too long with the answers you need This is a good place with lots of good people and lots of good advice - you'll be OK here

In southern california there are TONS of AA meetings. I would look up AA locally and ask for a ride to meetings. There are lots of people who will do this to help.
It is good to keep in mind that you are not "bumming" a ride here. AAs are supposed to help other alcoholics stay sober. You are doing them a favor by asking for help. So do not feel like you are imposing on anyone. I'll bet you have lots of people in AA ready to give you rides daily.

Here is your local AA intergroup phone #
(661) 250-9922
And here is a link to their website, which has meeting listings, for your area.

Give them a call. Its pretty normal that someone would come and take you to your first meeting, if you ask them. Once you get to the meeting get phone numbers from members. dgillz is quite right, many people will see it as service work, helping people get to and from meetings.
