Day 10
Well, I made it through day 10 if I counted correctly. The sweaty palms seem to be down to a minimum, which is a good thing...but my short term memory seems to be shot. I'll be walking down the hallway in my house and forget where I was going or what I was doing...is this normal? I'm assuming it is...I just hope it goes away in time.
I don't mean to make another 'me' thread, I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this.
Sorry I haven't been much help to anyone lately...I've been in my own little world this past week.

Hi Fade,
Congrats on 10 days!
Yes, what you are experiencing is normal. I'm sure others here can steer you to better resources, but if you can read up on post-acute withdrawal symptoms (PAWS), you can find more info on the types of experiences you can expect. I still find myself walking into a room and forgetting what I came there for quite often!
confound

But your brain is just getting rid of stuff..(how scientific and clinical is THAT observation) lol
I am so proud of you for going to detox...please hang in there and get into
a program if you are not already.
Keep sharing Fade..I thought we lost you for awhile there bro'.
Can't be having any of that!
Love and best wishes,
Sherry

Well, I've been to a couple of meetings, but all I hear is people talking about drugs and alcohol (go figure lol), which makes me uncomfortable to a point. I don't know if I'm ready to hear all the war stories yet...it's still early for me. Thanks for the support..it is ALWAYS appreciated.

Exactly! My memory is shot to he** but I think that's more to do with being a woman than being sober!
Welcome to day 10, Fade. Some people at meetings spend too much time talking about war stories, but if you can, take what you need and leave the rest. Don't give up on meetings just yet - keep building that support system. We need you here.
