Saying goodbye
Saying goodbye
So yesterday I drank after leaving the doctor's office. I wanted to say goodbye one last time to my I love you / I hate you friend. It's going to be hard but I will give it everything and more to not drink again. I don't ever see anything positive coming out of drinking for me. I know I will be much happier in the long run. I wish I was one of those people who has a few drinks and when they feel the buzz they stop because they don't want to go overboard. That unfortunately is not me. I know you all know what I'm talking about. We are all in that same boat. Anyway, I'm happy to be back here again where everyone understands you. THANKS!
J Boo,
Have you read "Drinking: A Love Story" by Caroline Knapp.
It's a memoir written by a young, amazing, high-achieving alcoholic woman and her love affair with alcohol. I read it while I was still drinking, and it helped give me the belief that yes, I could stop drinking.

Yes loved that book
Oh yes I have read that book several times. It actually helps while still drinking. I have parts in my copy where I have highlighted sections because it is so true. I also read another good book called TERRY by George McGovern. It is a very sad story but well worth reading. Has anyone heard of or read that one?
