1st Day of Sobriety....
1st Day of Sobriety....
Hi, I am new to this forum and to sobriety...again.
This will be the 3rd time I will try and get my life back, after two significant lengths of sobriety. I am so grateful that there is a place where I can write my feelings while here at work.
I look forward to helping others on this site, and maybe even accepting some for myself. I am going to a meeting tonight, and I am so scared and humiliated to be walking through those doors yet again.B ut at the same time, I am just thankful that I will make it back. Thanks for listening..

Welcome to SR
I am sure you will find lots of great support and info here.
Congratulations on your choices.
Something that hits me as I read your post...This will be the 3rd time and walking through those doors yet again
There are times we need meetings. Clean, sober, life going great...we still may need meetings. Something to think on this time around.

Hey Wharf, AA is one of the few places in the world where we don't shoot our wounded. Keep coming back as many times as you need to, and remember that this disease can kill those who don't make it back.
I registered last week on SR to fill in those spare moments at the office when my mind would stray to less productive activities. So far it's worked wonders for me.

Went to my first meeting last night. It was good to see some familiar faces. I am attending a Gratitude Breakfast on Friday which should be a good way to network and hopefully find a sponsor. Thats the thing that is hardest for me, asking for help.
Thanks for teh warm welcomes everyone. I am feeling really good today considering I am 2 days sober!

The main thing is that your trying again...
Many of us have probably quit and started many times, I know I have...
Don't even think about being ashamed about going back into the rooms. Everybody in there has been where you are...
Best of luck, maybe the 3'rd time will be the charm for you. I hope so...
One day at time.

Take your time and choose a sponsor carefully. My third sponsee found me yesterday. It's the privilege and honor of a sponsor to be of service to a newcomer.
