I've been spoilt.

I've come back down to earth with a great big bump.

I cannot really put into words what a life-changing trip I had to meet with all the lovely SR people. Life-changing, so I thought. But now I have to live back in the real world and it sucks, big time. And my life is back to the same old, same old that it was before.

When I was away, I was free to be myself, people accepted me for who I am - I felt such connectedness with all the people I met on a level that went far beyond social niceties.

I'm finding it hard to find anything approaching that now I'm back in the "real world". Will I ever?

As I say, I've been spoilt.

Ohhh sweetie. You deserve to be spoilt and Im sorry real life sucks.

But I have to agree it does suck.... You know you could always come back!

Somehow I have to find a balance in my life too. Im going to start studying for my next test on Monday.... then I will study for the next test after that.... then I will look for another (better paying) and then Im thinking I might go back to school and start studying for another career.... just in case I need one someday.

But these are just thoughts.........

Let set some goals .... find a balance..... something!

awww minnie - you spoilt us too by coming over here and sharing of yourself and i too felt a connection with everyone i met on our trip!!!

i hope that you find some of that in your everyday life and if you don't....then that just means you belong over here! LOL

i think cynay is right - what do you want to do that you are not doing right now - something to strive for - the trip was a stimulating, new experience with people you obvious felt a connection with before you met and even more so after.

so when ya coming back?

Oh, I'll be back, don't you worry. In the meantime, I'm off sailing to here http://www.strangfordlough.org/

Hopefully it'll help me snap out of this melancholy.

See you in 10 days.

hey minnie,
hope you have a great time in ireland, the lough looks lovely. and judging by the time of your post last night and the one this morning, if you are anything like me, maybe a bit more rest might help shake the blues!
look after yourself and have fun.

No, Ceri - you are absolutely right - more sleep is definitely needed. I have been neglecting looking after myself, which is a big no-no as far as my moods are concerned. Maybe I'll learn my lesson this time.....

I know you are off for 10 days and will not read this for awhile.
I understand what you are saying about the people we met this
summer. Unfortunately I missed out on some of the folks you
met prior to our adventure together. I do not and will never
have the type of friendship with people I know outside of this
wonderful circle we have. Even in my alanon groups I do not share
this close feeling. It's undescribable....
You talk about how much your trip here has changed your life.
I can also say your trip here has enriched my life in more ways
than I can ever express. I got out of the norm of my life and
found something new...very not like the old me but very much
now the new me. I hope you have a wonderful trip this week.

Aww Minnie...

I was thinking about you big time this weekend..L and I and the car club went up to Southern Utah (Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park) and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon..

I'm thinking it is next years road trip..The scenary was unbelievable..I'll post pix if I can get a chance.

Remember that we are here..just pick up the phone or hop on the plane...

And get involved with the International Coaches Federation or the like over there..guarantee you'll find some like minded people!

Have a great trip..

You know....

Minnie is right, the people I have met from these boards have altered my life for the better.

We do share a different kind of depth in our relationships.... and because we have all poured our hearts out here, good and bad, we have a much stronger basis for our friendships. The people I have met from these boards never felt like strangers to me when I met them....

We are very lucky!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you all on this. I seem to have writer's block at the moment.

Thank you all for your kind words and knowing just where I'm coming from. That is exactly what I treasure about my good friends on here - you all "get" me. I did a lot of thinking whilst I was away and I'll post about it when I can get my thoughts into words. In the meantime, here are some pics. As you can see, summer sailing in Britain can be a bit.....chilly.

To me, love is when people create an environment where each person can be their best self and are actively encouraged to do so
I just read this in one of your previous threads. So absolutely true!

sofoclese - thank you so much for quoting that. It is sooooo appropriate for what I've been thinking about. I need to focus on creating that environment of love.

Yes, that environment is a true blessing, where all your doubts vanish and the faith in life and yourself is reinforced with the presence of another. Or one begins to look at herself/himself in a more beautiful, meaningful way. Wish you find and reach that domain soon, Minnie.
