Techniques that work
Techniques that work
The two techniques that have helped me the most have been exercise and meditation.
A basic meditation book I would recommend is called 8 Minute Meditation by Victor Davich.
To overcome anxiety - I would highly recommend this workbook which helped me a great deal:
The Mindfulness and Acceptance Workbook for Anxiety: A Guide to Breaking Free from Anxiety, Phobias, and Worry Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy by Georg H. Eifert, John P. Forsyth

The Book "Worry", by Edward Hallowell.
During a stressful time in my life, I became overcome with anxiety and worry. I don't remember who recommended this book, probably someone here, but it helped me more than anything else.
It explained how when you worry to excess , you change the chemical balance in your brain, which in turn makes you even more stressed. It made sense to me, of why my anxiety and worry was out of control.
It is a quick and easy read. Real cases of others who were overwhelmed and worried to distraction.
It worked for me.
