Kids Beer
Now this is just what we need...NOT!!
London, Aug.24(ANI): Here is some news for kids who quickly want to step into daddy's shoes, and have their first taste of banned beverages. A Japanese company,Tomomasu, has made beer for kids, a soft drink which comes in a similar packaging like the big beer bottles for daddies.
Kids beer is a soft drink that's packaged in dark brown bottles and comes with a frothy head, Just like a pint of 'drity booze'
Though, the drink might not contain alcohol, it has caused a stink with ministers in the UK , who oppose the drink's packaging, and are also against the way it is being projected among the youngsters.
According to promotional campaigns carried out by the company, the drink is aimed at youngsters who want to have the first flavour of alcohol.
"Even Kids cannot stand life unless they have a Drink" says one slogan. Another reads "For you who cannot drink, a bubbly head that you will like and a fizzy flavor that spreads refreshment through your body-perfect for those evenings when you want to be a bit like an adult."
However, the makers of the kids' beer have a different version. They say that it makes the kids even more entertaining.
"If you have this drink at events attended by kids, it would make the occasions even more entertaining," Femalefirst quoted company's president Satoshi Tomoda as saying.
The company plans to launch the drink to the UK, but opposition Children's Minister, Tim Loughton is horrified.
"This product would be an alarming development for a nation which is already succumbing to a binge-drinking culture. If manufacturers encourage children to have a dry-run for drinking, it will only train children to experiment with real alcohol even earlier," he said.
The Portman Group, which promotes responsible drinking, also criticized Kids' Beer.
"The way this drink is promoted, showing young people absolutely desperate for a drink, risks fostering harmful attitudes.
Children need better education about alcohol, but this is not the way for them to learn," a spokesperson said. (ANI)

Well, we have "micro-brewed" soft drinks here that come in what are traditionally beer bottles, two of which are made by beer brewing companies. The first time I tried to quit drinking, that was all I came home from the store with! But they're not marketed to kids as beer. That's really horrible. Reminds me of those candy and gum cigarettes from when I was a kid.
