On day 4
On day 4
Well i have made it to day 4! I finally got my appetite back and the shakes are subsiding. Im in a much better mood today. I just hope i can still get through the evening with everybody drinking around here. Im just glad i have this place to go to whenever i need it. Thanks for your support everyone! It's helping me get through this.

That's so great to hear! Well done!!! You must feel really good - and you deserve it. I Know for me, when I start feeling "too" good, I somehow feel compelled to jeopardize it and that's when I convince myself to just have a go at drinking normally. It's so self destructive. This time around, I am going to try seeing through that feeling good period...and believe that I deserve it.
Keep up the great work - it's good to have you here, and good to see you working through the harder times.

Superb Kerry.
I do what Cathy does too; start feeling great, have a drink, then another. My plan's the same as hers, to keep going through that 'feeling great' part until a long while has passed, then assess whether I still feel like drinking alcohol, and more importantly, for what reasons.
I guess we don't really know if we'll be ok with just a couple of drinks ever again, until we try it and find we're fine, or end up dependent and sloshed all over again. Our own choice, and our own risk, isn't it?
Wishing you all the best choices for you.

Excellent Kerry. Don't hesistate at all to avoid any scene that would make you either want to drink or feel comfortable about not drinking. No social obligation or responsibility is worth that. There is noone that I would not cut out of my life if I felt it increased my desire to drink.
