Had a close call yesterday

Wife sent me out for some ice cream for Sunday dinner. Went right past the liquor store I once frequented. For a fleeting moment I was tempted to stop in for a bottle but was able to get myself together. Instead, I bought a quart of berries at the grocery store and pounded the entire carton when I got home.

Not sure why then, as I drive past that place a few times/week. Crisis averted, I suppose.....

I’m glad clarity clicked in Steve

People often think that recovery means not thinking about drinking at all, but I think for a lot of us recovery means swatting away those brief insane impulses, and doing the right thing?

Here is something I learned about myself: the cravings always hit between 3 and 5pm. As long as I keep myself occupied during that timeframe, I am fine. It is when boredom creeps in, then we have issues.

Yes, those insane moments happen from time to time Steve. You just bat through them, and it becomes easier with each successful bat. You get to know how to do it.

Crisis averted. 🍇- these are berries.

I think I'm gonna start keeping a few quart of fresh fruit in my fridge for such moments!
