Please stay on the Sober bus - pt.32
On the bus today, and recovered a bit from the madness of the past 2 days
I felt like I was simultaneously holding on tight and just closing my eyes until it was over!!
Happy Friday to everyone!

I think my pole dancing days are over. Who knows? I can still ride horses with my bad back, but it's painful. I suppose it's likely about what I want to waste my pain on! Lol.
I'm on the bus.
Have a wonderful day all! ♥♥♥

On the Sober Bus too altho I don't post daily like I used to.
Adjusting to retirement. Started a volunteer gig at the local food bank, Fridays 9am to 12:30pm. Mostly computer and phone work, some food sorting and weighing.

Congrats to you Ringo. The local food bank and this other organization that provides meals to school kids are my two favorite charities. It boggles my mind that in our country people still go to bed, or kids have to go to school, hungry.
Have a great night and weekend!!

Hey Fishkiller
Hello Ringo!
Glad to read you are doing good in your new retirement!
Yes SG, that's a lot of snow but they have an armada of heavy equipment to remove it within 3 or 4 days.
You know, there are two seasons in Canada : winter and the hockey playoffs
Count me in for a ride on the Sober Bus today! ☼

Well spotted Purps
Good to see you Ringo and good on you for helping out at the food bank. We have the same situation MITA mentioned here in the UK too. It's a disgrace.
London is the same stargazer, our transport network collapses whenever we get a rare dusting of snow.
Sending best wishes to SoberLeigh, I hope you are making progress.

I'm on the bus this morning after a busy early evening shift volunteering at Tony La Russa's ARF and I'm a bit sore, as usual. I love my Friday late afternoon/early eve shift doing laundry and sanitizing toys, bowls, etc. Laundry does give one a sense of accomplishment. I have met so many people back there, I keep waiting for Tony La Russa to walk in. He probably will one day. Hopefully I'll get to meet him. He and his family live very close and they say he pops in. I'm sure his wife does, but I'm not sure I know what she looks like. They're building a new extension for Pets and Vets. Any vet who has PTSD can get a therapy dog for free and with help with food and vet bills, if they want one and a lot of help with free training, etc. They have a clinic open daily. I've met a couple of the dogs and they are the sweetest things. I think it will be a success.
I think I'm going to give notice to the thrift store. I'm not going to have time and I just don't like doing it. I love what they use the money for, but some of those people I volunteer with are wonderful, others not so much. The not so much are really pretty obnoxious. I wrapped a huge set of dishes with one of them and she didn't say one word to me the whole time. I'm not getting paid for it, so I'm turning my notice in, just for ARF's Thrift Store, not the shelter. I'm amping up there and learning new things.
Have a great Saturday all. Sorry for the long post. Love and peace to everyone. xxxooo ♥♥♥
