Checking in amost 100 days again
Hi All
i just wanted to check in. I quit last year after years of increasingly erratic drinking. I made it 218 days sober. It was hard for a long long time and finally I relapsed when my wife and kids were out of town.
That was not good. But I came out of it 2 days later feeling like hell and was able to use the skills the folk on here had given me in the previous year to start again.
I am now back at nearly 100 days and it feels easier. The long break and new habits I built during it have made a big difference and this time if feels permanent. There are still days when the urge returns but they are less and less. What's more I feel that my go to responsesrto stress or a bad day have changed. I just wanted to say thanks to y'all for your help and support.

That's good news Awald , congrats on 100 days. It's encouraging to hear that you are learning new habits and ways to deal with life's stresses...that's the hardest part of getting sober in my opinion. Keep up the good work and don't be a stranger - there's always someone here on SR should you need extra support.
Good going, AWald! I had 75 days at first, then 208 days, and now am at 801 days. We're getting the hang of it cause we keep at it!
