Finally I admit I have a drinking problem

I have struggled with this for years I can stay away from alcohol during the week but come Friday I'm drunk right through to Sunday's and my wife and kids have had enough.. missing work on a nondaybis becoming regular and I'm having to lie to my boss and I'm going to lose my job as well if i can't sort myself out. I can No longer control this part of my life constantly hungover and my mental state is in a bad way. I'm hoping this forum will be a great help in trying to conquer giving up alcohol for ever .

Welcome Chrissy1976! You won't regret giving up alcohol, that is a promise. It won't be easy, but will be worth it. You already know that alcoholism is progressive. Trust me, it progresses downward. You will save yourself a lot of pain and grief if you stop now. We are all here to support you. Keep posting!

Hi Chrissy. Sobriety is a skill you can learn with a lot of attention, effort, patience etc. Well worth the trouble, learning how to live without the old poison holding us back. Glad you made the SR scene!

We're delighted you're here, Chrissy.

Please stick around and keep us posted.

I strongly suggest following a plan of recovery and not trying to do it on your own.

I certainly couldn't.

I think a significant number of people on this forum would be able to put ditto marks under this post, from some point in their lives. Welcome Chrissy1976

Hi Chrissy. That's one of the hardest parts over with right at the beginning, admitting you have a problem.

As has been said, you won't regret kicking the booze. You'll feel better and you'll have more money.
