555

Today marks 555 days of sobriety.

In a few a hours I will be giving my 6th AA lead and I have my 7th lead scheduled for May 16th.

Life is good; to anyone new here don't give up - it only gets better and staying in the bottle only gets worse.

2 years ago I was a hopeless drunk in a deep dark place and was just existing and waiting to die.

If anyone would have told me then I would be where I am now I would have said they were nuts.

I saw an old drinking buddy at a store today and he was in pretty bad shape - like I said when you stay in the bottle things don't get better.

So awesome Doug. I went back and read a bunch of your old threads - we both joined the same year 2013.

I'm finally sober, not going back on this ride ever again.

Thank you for posting and sharing your experiences. Look forward to hearing more.

Yeah I stopped drinking for 4 months back in 2013 - but that is all I did, I stopped drinking.

Putting down the bottle is such a small part of sobriety and only the beginning. Finding out why we drank and completely changing our lives is the key to staying sober.

Working the program of AA and having constant contact with my Higher Power is what is working for me.

Congrats, Doug. This time is it for me, too.

I like the 555 angle.

Hi doug! Glad you're doing well, haven't seen you around these parts for awhile.

Let me chime in as one who has quit for the last time. I treasure my sobriety.

I have just been so busy - I haven't had the time to post. I like this Forum - it helped me a lot - especially in very early sobriety when I had fears about leaving my house.

Hi Doug. I remember your early posts. You seemed to have a refreshing willingness which, I had the feeling, might do you some good. Great to hear you are doing well. Thanks for coming back and sharing some hope with us.
