day 300
It has been 300 days since my last drink.
What a difference this summer has been compared to my last 27 years of drunken summers.
In the past, my weekend schedule was:
Saturday get out of bed at 8 or 9, dry heave and gag, endure dread and panic and sit in my room in a dark depression in front of my computer all morning.
Sometime in the early afternoon I would go buy my daily liquor, then come home and start drinking. I would just hang around the house and get drunk.
Sunday, repeat.
Now this weekend:
Saturday - got up, had breakfast, went to church for the 8am mass. Went to an AA meeting at 12:30pm, went to another AA meeting at 3pm. Came home and spent the evening with my family.
Sunday (today) - got up, had breakfast, went to 10am mass I will be spending the afternoon with my family and this evening I am going to a going away party at an AA friend's house for a woman in the Fellowship that is moving out of town.
Life is good.

Excellent!
Whilst I must admit using the second part of the title of Soko Morinaga's book 'Novice to Master - An Ongoing Lesson in the Extent of My Own Stupidity' perhaps reflects my own journey in recovery yours is excellent and I hope continues to be so...
