The end of the day will be 2 weeks
At the end of the day today it will be 2 weeks sober for me. I've had good days and bad days but I keep telling myself that 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, etc. etc. is closer from this side of sobriety than starting over at day 1.
It also helps that when I get the urge to drink if I abstain when I wake up the next morning I actually feel good and glad that I didn't drink.
So if anyone else is in a similar situation as myself, remember that with everyday that passes you are closer to feeling better and better, and it's easier to stay sober than to drink and have to start all over again. When the addicted part of the brain keeps telling you to drink, remember the guilt and other negative feelings you feel afterwards, and how good it feels to wake up sober. This is just what I have found can be helpful.
Have a great day!

Seriously great post treeguy! Take it one day at a time. It does get easier. Just remember that drinking is a dead end street for us and nothing good will happen by continuing to drink. Acceptance is key here.
Hang in there buddy. Hi, I'm wayne.
