so happy

when i was drinking, i was in a huge spiral of destruction, self harm, overdoses, i lost my job but was told if i ever sorted myself out then they would rethink things, i went to a work meeting yesterday as i had told them i had completed a detox and remained sober for well over a month now, and work have agreed to take me back on reduced hours an no overtime, 30 hours a week.

i will admit i did used to be well liked and everyone always said i was great at my job but i am gobsmacked that they have given me a second chance, i dnt feel like i deserve it, whats even better is my ex has now started to text me again.

i feel like god is giving me a second chance of life

Good for you. Hope it works out with your ex.

As far as employment goes the opposite happened to me. Got sacked because of my drinking history less than a week after getting sober.

Fair enough. The complaints were legit.

Phoenix is right on. Do not get complacent. The good things you're experiencing are directly related to your continuous sobriety. Keep pushing ahead in your recovery!
