It works.
It's not a cure for alcoholism, it's a deterrent for impulsive drinking.
If you find yourself okay one minute and ready to go to the liquor store five minutes later, you can no longer do that.
Without putting yourself into a very unpleasant medical emergency.

Don't be afraid of it. It's great to complement AA meetings, therapy, AVRT, SR, and all other forms of support. If you have insurance, it's relatively inexpensive.
Ask your doctor if you think it might help you.
