Day 7 - It is getting harder...

I am counting the days and it feels like an eternity already. Keeps on getting harder... And now that I am physically better, the temptation is louder... One drink, how can it hurt?

These are the strongest days once the hell of the withdrawals have past for your AV to go nuts tempting you that it's ok to drink again.
You did the right thing posting before you did something stupid, go tell AV to eat a pile of dog sh*t

theres a line from the big book that comes to mind:

Once more: The alcoholic at certain times has no effective mental defense against the first drink. Except in a few rare cases, neither he nor any other human being can provide such a defense. His defense must come from a Higher Power.
one drink is deadly for me.
my past is a very valuable possession of mine- reminds me how good I wasn't at one drink.
great time to hit a meeting and/or pick up the phone and call another alcoholic locally.

Posting here at SR helped me break out of that cycle where I'd feel good again and decide 'a drink wouldn't hurt'

I was able to see, in my story and others, that it would definitely hurt.

Like I said in another thread to you...this is early recovery., This is not the best it's going to get...hang in there

You know what is harder than day 7?

Starting over at 1.

Stay strong. And be patient about your recovery. You didn't get to where you are with your drinking in a week. It will take more than a week to get better.
