Rip butch trucks

Founding member of The Allman Brothers Band died on Tuesday at his home. Nicknamed the Lou Gerhig of drummers he is the only member of the band to never miss a show in their 50 year career. Truly lived for the music.

One of my all-time favorite bands. His nephew is a pretty good guitarist as well.

A bit off topic, but if you are a fan of the Allman Brothers do a search on YouTube for a 20 year old kid named Marcus King (Marcus King Band). He just recently put out his 2nd album which was produced by Warren Haynes. It recently made it to #2 on the blues chart.

The story gets sadder if latest reports are right.

Thank you, Jimmy - I hadn't heard until now. How horrible.

Grungehead - Will check out Marcus King. Thanks.

Did a quick search to see if any prior alcoholism etc. did not see anything. Does anyone know the back story?

Butch Trucks: Allman Bros. drummer on rock, drugs and getting sober

I haven't read anything about a relapse and I'm not suggesting that.
The latest reports seem to suggest financial worry pushed him over the edge.
