Congrats, BullDog! My fear of doctors was so great, that I stayed away from one for about 25 years. Ever since I got sober in 2009, it's been a gradual process. I found a doctor that I like and trust and he's really helped me cope with my fears. He even talked me into the dreaded colonoscopy last year Now, I almost (almost) look forward to my twice a year visits!

Well, the rest of the results are in.
My kidney function is NORMAL!!!
My heart function is back to NORMAL.
My cholesterol is in the NORMAL range

My liver enzimes are MILDLY elevated, but IMPROVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got the results. I'm SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!

I got on my knees and thanked God.

So many times in my life I've had the foxhole prayer and never said thank you when i was saved from myself. This was MONUMENTAL for me to do today.
I needed to say thank you.

I'm overwhelmed.

I feel AMAZING...

to EVERYONE who offered words of encouragement.

I'm soooo happy today. I went and took my neighbor to breakfast. He was the guy who took me to the hospital the morning i was in such bad shape i could hardly move. He's been a good friend to me.

So I'm rewarding myself with a pretty expensive hardcover book i've been really wanting that has been out of print for years. I managed to track it down about 3 days ago. I told myself if i turned out to be ok, i'd splurge for it. It should be here early next week.

My hard work is finally paying off. My rewards are apparent EVERYWHERE in my life.

My relationship with my family...God, my friends are apparent. My wife told me i'm a completely different person now.

I sit back and take stock of where i came from and where i am now. If i can do it, any one can do it. I'm so blessed.

That's really good to hear Bulldog, and a kind gesture to take your neighbor out. I'm sure he appreciated the gesture as well as the conversation. Hope the book gets there soon!

That's great news! I use to dread going to the docs and didn't for years, but then I finally went and it was relieving to have great docs, and at least know what's going on, rather than trying to avoid any potential problems. I actually look forward to my appointments now.
