ALT up and down in first year sobriety?
I just want to know if I am alone in this.
It seems for everyone I have read of here things go in an expected, linear fashion. Quit drinking- levels get better.
Mine are worse after 10 months though

Mine got better then got worse again then got better.
There are a lot of factors, not just alcohol.
Please try to think about something other than this today, sleepie. You're driving yourself crazy over something which you cannot control.

Sleepie I was thinking about this and meant to pass it along to you. You said you have lost weight, I'm wondering if at some point your body went into ketosis and started burning fat and releasing stored toxins in the fat from previous alcohol/medication use?
I'm just thinking this could be one of many factors that could be causing the changes of levels this far along as you've dropped weight. I think if you let it go and chart it out with your dr over the next couple years, you may see your numbers regulating?
I would check it out online and talk to your dr about it next time you see him. Ketosis seems to tie in to potential liver and kidney problems.
I'm not a doctor but what I read made me think of what you're going through and could be a possible cause.
I hope youre able to get some rest and some peace of mind sleepie. I'm sorry you're stressing out, but otherwise I hope youre still feeling ok.

I'm 16 months and mine are up and down a lot at the moment, previously I got to 10 months then picked up, not a good idea, prior to that I was trying to stop for 5 years and simply couldn't stay stopped.

I mean I am not gonna lie. I have been really close to just quitting sobriety today. What's the damn use. it is no consolation that things might have gone worse quicker. I mean literally everything has gotten worse since I quit. Zero improvement. My bloodwork is worse, I feel worse and I have astronomical proportions of anxiety and depression. So a temporary relief from it all looks good.
I was practically salivating watching someone purchase a favorite beer of mine yesterday. I mean I am checking for xanax, in case of withdrawals, knowing where I can score more.... or maybe just taking a xanax.
I haven't yet so don't worry. But yeah I feel really, really gypped here. I mean who wouldn't.

I enjoy life a lot more when I have no ambition. Ambition just created more expectations and worries for me I'm better off floating from moment taking it as it comes

I don't want to scare you, but there are liver diseases that are not alcohol related.
Keep seeing your doctor regularly and ask him if he thinks a liver biopsy is necessary. It sounds scary, but it's not in the long run.
