Monday Blessings!

I thought I'd try something a little more upbeat today, in light of the not so great weekend I had. Perhaps we could all list something we are thankful for in our sobriety, or feel blessed about.

Me first:
A good night's sleep (apparently I slept through our twins crying!)
My bank account is still in the black (just barely)

I enjoy good health. I have a nice smile and very, very, very expensive teeth. Lol.

Nice one, Steve.

I love waking up without that horrible feeling of dread and regret after a binge.

I hadn't realized until recently just how much alcohol was wreaking havoc on my appearance. I knew my eyes were constantly bloodshot and red, but in the past few weeks that I have been sober (not counting my one-day relapse) my face has changed so much. Now I realise how puffy, tired, blemished it's been for the past two years of constant drinking. I had forgotten what I looked like 'healthy'.

So today I'm thankful for my new/old face and eyes and skin.

All great replies!

I keep thinking back to previous Mondays when I drank. Monday I was a total wreck. Tuesday was better but still crazy. Wednesday I felt the best... and then I'd relapse all over again.

Thankful for sobriety.

There was something about Wednesdays. Just about clear of the hang over, starting to feel good again. And of course it is payday. Feeling good was a good reason for me to drink, just one on the way home mind you. Quite often I wouldnt be seen at work till the following monday. Just one never seemed to be just one.
