Obsessing

Rough night last night. Rough morning. My story is in the newcomers forum if interested.

I don't know if my wife has the energy or desire to go through this with me. It would be so much easier for her to wash her hands clean.

I work with my wife's aunt also and while the event of me leaving home happened a week from yesterday. Wife's aunt didn't know until this weekend. Going to work shortly. It's going to be a great day!

Luckily, I have a dr appt right after work and then a meeting so I have something to look forward to.

I miss my family. I want my old life back.

Your old life brought you your problems. Focus on your new life. A clean and sober one.

I wanted everything fixed now too Cornburglar, but it didn't work out that way.

I'm glad it didn't now - I learned a lot from working hard, putting myself in other peoples shoes, and learning to be patient.

If you're like me you drank for years - give things a little time

Well, it appears as if I have no control over other people's processing time after all. I got very used to tantrumming "forgiveness," out of people.

Yeah - I had to learn it was their timetable, not mine.
That was quite humbling, but looking back that was not a bad thing for me

I hear you about demanding forgiveness. One of the things I'm refocusing on in my recovery is letting go of the control I want to exert over processes that affect me, and relearning to accept people and their feelings as they are.
