YOU get to decide this one for yourself. Does it bother you? Are you inclined to drink it rather than gargle, spit and rinse? For me, the answer was NO to both these questions, and taking a militant stance on this would do nothing for my sobriety. I got drunk and addicted by drinking beer, wine and spirits. And I am all done with those.

On the other hand, if your hands start to shake and your gorge rises at the smell then you have your answer. Follow your head. It will tell you the right thing if you listen.

I never craved - but I noticed I'd use the normal Listerine up about twice as quickly as a non alc brand...that was enough of a pointer for me to stick with the non alc kinds.

I use regular Listerine with no thoughts of drinking it or ill effects. My hand sanitizer is 70% alcohol. Fruit and grains ferment in the gut into small amounts of alcohol. Never had a problem. Just be aware and maybe use a non-alcoholic mouthwash.

I've never even given thought to drinking Listerine to catch a buzz. If you have to ask I guess the answer is no.

I avoid it. But, I used to drink Listerine when I had no access to liquor.....

I would avoid everything with alcohol. Mouthwash...Nyquil. You can find medicine and mouthwash without alcohol. Why risk your sobriety?

Funny that we can discuss such things, means that we take this very seriously.

Good for us.

If you are taking antabuse you should definitely not use it. I fooled around with antabuse and when I used an alcohol mouth wash I went all red and hot and felt it was kind of exciting. So then I experimented by drinking a load of beer on antabuse and I swear it nearly killed me.

I know now that there are far better ways of dealing with alcohol than taking antabuse.
