Thankful for a sober NYE

Last year on this day, I got drunk with some friends, got into some stupid drunken crying fit (don't even remember what it was about), and woke up the next day to drink away my hangover. I'm very thankful that today will be much different. I'll be heading to an early dinner with my mom and some family friends (at a place where they do not serve alcohol), then home early to hang out with my dogs and relax. My, what a difference a year makes

Happy New Year to everyone on this site, and thanks for the constant source of support!

Happy Sober New Year to you!! I'm on day 45, met up with some band mates I haven't seen in 29 years, we drank coffee and enjoyed each other's company!

Great post - couldn't agree more and same here!!

Great, quiet, night in with my gf, no hangovers today, and up/out early with some non sober buddies on our dirt bikes for the day.

What a difference!

Couldn't agree more - although I didn't manage to see the New Year in. I ate so much delicious food, and got comfortable and sleepy so went to bed with a good book. Lol.

Rock 'n' roll eh!!

Never mind - it was a lovely end to an amazing year.

Happy New Year to you

I too am thankful. I worked the night shift and therefore had plenty to do instead of drinking. It feels great to greet the new year sober and in a good headspace, instead of reeling from a hangover.
