My 12 steps book arrived.

I would just like to say today is a good day. I have been talking really openly with my wife for the first time about my drinking and I have told my sister who was shocked but sounded very supportive.

My 12 steps book arrived and I have read the first step and for the first time in a long time I feel really sober and happy.

I am so glad of you all and this site is amazing thank you SR.

I am only on day eight and I know there is a long way to go, but here is looking forwards. God bless and look after you all.

Glad it was a good day.

Have you looked up the meetings in your area? If you would like to try them but are anxious about walking in, contact the helpline number and they can get a local AAer to contact you. It often really helps having a chat with someone before you go, and feeling like someone in there is known to you, or will meet you outside and walk in together.

Keep going - you're doing great

PS There are lots of AA speaker recordings that you can listen do - both on Youtube and specific recovery sites. There are lots for Step 1 on here...
