Hey bullmas, good for you! My first Saturday night sober felt kinda strange ... glad you posted here.

In my experience, the longer I stay with sobriety and work my plan to stay sober, the more that itch quiets down.

Hang in there!

Football Sunday

Day 7 lands on football Sunday on TV

For many years it was automatic;

Remote control in one hand and a cold beer in the other.
--
Today now its just Remote control in one hand ,

And extra batteries for the Remote control in the other.

It's a problem for many I think...it's never too late to make some new traditions tho.

If you can't go without watching the game, maybe tape it? that way you can get up and pause it if you're feeling wobbly?

Sounds like you're doing great, Bullmas. As I'm sure you're aware, breaking habits is hardest when you begin to break them and gets easier as time goes on (note to self). Enjoy the football :-)

I hear ya, bullmas. I've had to adjust this fall as well. For college football, I watch more night games. I eat a big dinner so no room for alcohol. For the nfl I'm still adjusting. I try not to sit in the same chair. I also plan something right after the game so I don't want to be drunk for that stuff. I also like reason if I have to miss a few games its not a big deal. Geez, I was passed out before the end of plenty of games or drunk enough that I barely recall the end. So if I can only watch a quarter at least I remember it

Yea Roger absolutely ! I can even remember scores now.
In closing:
As I read through others threads here at S/R , I think that I have quite an advantage over some, knowing that I don't have a choice but to quit drinking, its quite a thought process knowing my life is on the line.
Well back to Monday night football
Cheers
