two days sober
hi there
its been a while since I have posted...and things were going really well up until a month ago...
I went through rehab last oct-feb and would have had a year sober on oct 25..
however a painful injury I had sustained to my neck some 3 years ago started acting up through the winter months, and I required narcotic pain relief in order to function...
I used this on and off for a while, however it became habit forming again, and I managed to taper off.
it appears it was sufficient enough to awaken the sleeping dragon...
on top of this the relationship I was in became too much....I have recently left my partner after my drinking became apparent, however being in a relationship with a an untreated codependant has its own significant stressors, and her emotional demands upon me, quite honestly were the straw that broke the camels back.
we have had couples counselling, individual counselling for the past year....and I have come to the conclusion that if nothing changes, nothing changes......
so in order to save my life, my sanity and my health I am starting over....
