Facial sweating during the day - Is it caused by the drinking?

I am currently going on my third day sober. I am currently quitting after a few years of pretty heavy drinking partially because I like myself more when I go for stretches sober, partially for my health, partially for my partner, and partially because of one side-effect which I am hoping is caused by the alcohol - profuse sweating mainly on my face.

I come from a family that has a history of sweating, but mine has been over the top. Even in a lightly warm environment sometimes I will break out in profuse and nonstop sweating. It has become very embarrassing to me especially because I work in a field where I am almost constantly around people and sometimes outdoors. I also traced back when I first started noticing it and I'm realizing it was never a problem for me until the point when I started drinking more heavily.

I am asking if this was a side effect for anyone else, and if so how long you went after being sober to have this symptom stop. I was giving a presentation to my staff tonight and even though we were in air conditioning and I am on my third day sober, I could not get the faucet to turn off. I know it was probably partially due to nerves, but I never used to have this problem in the past.

This is caused by dehydration some call it the sweats for me I was constantly sweating through dehydration

Took about a week to get it right

You can tell if your dehydrated next time if the urine (sorry to b gross here) is bright/dark yellow or orange then you know your dehydrated

Plenty of water around 2 litres a day should get you right

Are you able to eat ? Soup is good ?

Hang in there were almost through the woods

Swimmer, I have the exact same problem. It's part of the process. Give it time for your nervous system to reset to "normal"

Thanks all, that's what I figured. And congrats on day 3 Tony! It sucks right now but at least each day is another day forward rather than backward.

your body will be in overdrive ridding itself of toxins.

excessive sweating is normal for heavy drinkers.

Are you overweight or have HTN? ( high blood pressure)....red face is also an indication.
Is your heart rate fast? Can you breathe normally? Or are you breathless?
Heavy drinking usually causes you to not exercise and be out of shape.
Maybe a visit to your doc will give you answers.
But better to be able to sweat out the toxins than not.
