Knowing ones own weaknesses

Members of my family are so afraid of me being put into dangerous situations concerning drink. I have realised however that it is myself that is ultimately the danger and it is up to me to know ones own weaknesses and how to deal with them to the best of my ability.

Understanding and accepting addiction is certainly a huge step in the healing process. Remember too that you don't have to do it alone...there are many right here on SR and locally that can help you through this.

yes, i agree that it's inside. nevertheless, in early sobriety i stayed away from some of the "external dangers", knowing that my "internal" might just get hooked back in ...
you and your family will find some kind of balance.
