quit smoking after initial withdrawals
Hello guys ,
today is day 5 sober ,i went with very bad withdrawals , my head , neck and body paining and shaking ,and i'm very very tired , i noticed that when i smoke shaking and twitching became uncontrollable .and in general the withdrawals become worse
i think smoking is bad for alcohol withdrawals as it dehydrate the body , do you think is it wise to quit smoking after 5 days sober?

The chemicals in the smoke are just one more thing for your liver to process so maybe it's a good thing you quit the cigarettes. Hang in there I know how those first 5-7 days are! It gets way better.
I quit smoking about, maybe, three months after I quit drinking. Nah, maybe 4 or 5 months...I really don't remember. But, whatever, that's just ME. I had gotten very ill shortly after quitting alcohol (totally unrelated) so that had a lot to do with my decision.
Now, for the dehydration thing, I found coconut water helped tremendously. It's easily found in Walmart and most grocery stores. It's not cheap and can be an acquired taste, but oh boy, it really helped me a lot.
Anyway, my two cents.

I quit smoking and drinking at the same time (almost three years ago). I only really wanted to smoke when I was drunk so that was pretty convenient. I'm glad I quit both at once so I could just be done with the withdrawal stuff and move on. Good luck and congratulations on your recovery!
