I just told my younger sister I was an alcholohic and I had joined a support group, her response was.."Well, Lord, you don't really drink do you, just beer and wine on the weekends" she too is an alcoholic but hasn't realized it yet

I have active alcoholic family members too, and while it can be depressing to hear things like what your sister said, and can appeal to our wanting to believe that we don't have a problem, please do not let it distract you from your resolution to recover. Like Dee said, maybe your sister will follow in your footsteps?
