Stephen King

Has been writing and directing my dreams. I made a conscious decision to quit last Monday, although I did slip up Friday I haven't drank since. My physical withdrawls have been thankfully limited to hot flashes which have passed and night sweating, still pretty bad. On the mental side of things my dreams have been very interesting. Some of them nightmares, but I have to say overall pretty interesting... very vivid. No using or drinking dreams, but stuff that seemingly comes out of a Stephen King book.

I had vivid dreams when I first quit, too. They lasted for several months (like 3-4). Maybe this material is the start for a new career in writing? Look out, Stephen!

Oh they're chalked full of aliens, high flying motorcycle stunts, lost and being chased in the ghetto by the government. Strangely, I look foreward to them...lol

Looking on the bright side!

I still have them now but I don't mind. I got a whole book from one of them ... about gangsters, which isn't even my usual genre lol

And weirdly (or not!) Stephen King is in recovery for over 20 years...

Do love a tangential, vaguely related fact

Beat me to it!

My horror dreams only lasted a few days. Usually zombie/apocalyptic type. After the nightmares came the "drank in my dream and felt horrible about it but then woke up realizing it was just a dream" dreams. Those were recurring for a month or two. Now I usually have normal dreams.

Stephen King was so blitzed, he said he hardly remembers writing "Cujo." Can you imagine?

Hang in there ~ you won't always feel like that. I used to get horrible anxiety at night especially.

It felt like I was dying, but as Monty Python said, "I got better." It happened pretty quickly too.
