I was not and still am not one to feel good about my being sober when compared to others having it worse, for whatever reasons. In simple terms, comparing ourselves to others so as to come to better terms with ourselves is a choice made in vanity.
When looking in the mirror, if we have to ask ourselves is this all that I am, then we need to blink and re-visit our own experiences with an eye towards avoiding selfishness.
