Yesterday while on a bike ride around an old neighborhood hangout, I had thoughts about some people and places I'd drink with near the area. I thought to myself that having a few beers around there to relive the old times would be fun. Then it dawned on me, when I was drinking, even those times I drank to recapture the past, I soon found myself caught up in the present and only concerned about my current buzz. I then thought that since I have been sober, I have had many more past experiences come back to me with much more vivid memory than I ever did while drinking. I have come to the conclusion that the past is best to be remembered, not to be relived.
