Going on medication that doesn`t work with alcohol
I have been sober for 9 days. I have rarely been an every day drinker, but would binge drinking in social situations. In one week I`m going on medications for anxiety that my psychologist says I under no circumstance can drink with. The idea of getting one more binge under my belt before that has started to fester in my mind, as the same time as I know that that is the worst idea in the world. I am invited to two parties on the weekend and I am going back and forth on it. Could you guys give me some input on this?
Input: Don't go to the parties. Don't throw away 9 days of sobriety. Get a few more days of sobriety under your belt before you go on those meds, and listen to your doctor when he tells you that you absolutely cannot drink while on those meds. It'll be easier to not drink while on the meds if you have a couple of weeks of sobriety instead of just a day or two. Don't make it harder on yourself than it has to be.
Thank you guys, you always know the right thing to do, but you choose to go the other way. Weird thing is it keeps piling on, I got another invitation for a party today, so all of a sudden it`s three parties...What is the universe thinking! I`ll be good though, going to AA tomorrow and that will probably help me some more.
