I guess it's not a bad thing, but when I collected the recycling the other day, it was nice not to see any liquor/beer bottles or cans. Instead, I counted 16 (1 liter) bottles of cranberry seltzer! It just made me laugh.
I may have to invest in one of those soda stream things.

Since I stopped drinking I am usually early to bed and early to rise.
I listen every sunday morning to hear the clink of the bottles being thrown into the recycling boxes and think thank goodness thats not me anymore!

I was relieved that I didn't have to fake walking the dog to drop off bags at the park garbage or jam my knapsack with empties and drop them one by one in other people's recycling...
No more going to work with that sick feeling in my gut that they are going to have a random alcohol test waiting at the gate.
What a weight off!
Six or more beers a day is now replaced by one or two Ginger Beers.
I'm happy that I don't have to hide my empties until I can get them in a trash bag to throw them out somewhere my husband won't see them.
He did however, express concern NOW over my "obsession" with Diet Coke. I asked him what difference THAT makes. Haha
