I think it is your addiction side rationalizing using something that makes you "feel good". But that is jut my opinion.

I thought about using pot at the beginning, but in the end, I am just trading one addiction for another. And when you admit to be an addict, I think a person has to be aware of it in other things they might do. But again just my opinion.

And just wanted to add that I don't think it is a stupid question. I think it's valid. When I quit drinking I had to ask if I could still use mouthwash, Nyquil nighttime etc.
