Good job! One day at a time! You didn't drink yesterday, you don't have to drink today, but don't worry about tomorrow because it isn't here yet

That's how my journey started! Detox was brutal for me, so I am glad to not have to go through that again!

Good luck

Nice work.

This will be the most intense, weird and savage time for you, so just stick with it.

You are on day 3 now, and you will be on day 4 tomorrow. Excellent.

First get to day 10, then 15, then 20, etc., and please do keep posting here so we know how you are progressing.

I am on day 32 myself, and it has been one hell of a journey so far. You will enjoy it, despite the difficult stuff you are going to go through.

Welcome to the club!

I'm so happy right now, getting the most satisfactory sleep I have had in ages, and for the first time i've got up this morning without feeling nauseated or sick and have had a proper breakfast.

One day at a time but

Day 4 it's the toughest from a physical withdrawal perspective normally. If you can do that, then you can tell yourself the rest is mental and if you really, really want to quit you can best the mental cravings.

P.S. consider getting some help and do not under estimate how tough it can be not how insidious alcohol is. Don't listen to it. It will tell you that you can't do it or you are different etc etc. It's bull. You can quit. Worse addicts and weaker people than you have quit.

Good luck. It's worth it.

Oh and my 'hi there' thread has some useful UK based help sources that someone posted for me.

Good stuff.

That is all you can really do. Your body is going to be kicking out all manner of toxic stuff over the next few weeks, and it is going to hurt, feel manic, feel depressed, lonely, excited, hot, cold, etc.

Just keep riding it and know that you ARE getting better, even though you will most likely feel the opposite.

Have at it!

I committed to Alcoholics Anonymous. So far it has lasted over 23 years.

I wish you the best.
