Sounds like like it could be a "fringe group."

First and foremost, I want to say I'm sorry for the health issues and pain you are going through. I hope you are staying strong in mind and body.

My aunt was prescribed MMJ because she was losing so much weight and always nauseous. But she was so old school and believed drugs are drugs, she refused. Ultimately, she gave in because it was too much for her. She told me recently that she didn't know which was worse. The hunger or the pain. I guess it was mashed together. She now eats small but regular meals and keeps them in.

My uncle was also prescribed MMJ for the same reason. No appetite and pain. He eats now. And its made a big difference in his health.
This has allowed them to be as comfortable as they can be. Please don't let anybody make you feel guilty for that.

I'm sorry that the people you probably just confided in, and had once welcomed you for something they could relate to, have turned their backs because of something they don't.
I've learned that sobriety equals seniority. Which I get in some ways, but being hushed because you're a newbie is something I don't get. Anyway, in no way am I saying they're all like that, but I've experienced it. And I'm sorry you're going through it.

Is there a group that meets for people dealing with cancer in your area?

Again, I hope you stay strong in mind and body and continue to do what makes your days bearable.

Much Love..

Steve...

I've been an active AA member since '84 ...had
4 HG's in 3 areas.

I've been dealing with cancer for about 3 years
What I take is no business of AA members...

My cancer team suggested milk shakes and Ensure for
improveing my appetite and to stop the weight loss.
Small frequent meals works best for me.

I've never heard of such happening..absolutely do not aggree
You could start your own group if finding another is impossible.

Welcome to our recovery comunity...

Medicinal pot is a legitimate medication. Sadly, some folks will never believe this & still believe in the old "Reefer Madness" days.

I hope you are doing okay for now both cancer wise and sober wise.

I hope you find some different meetings soon.

As Carol D always says:

My sobriety is between and AA.

My medical conditions and prescriptions are between me and my doctor.

So again, congratulations on your two years and I hope you have many many more!!!!!

Love and hugs,
