Back from rehab

Hi all,

I just spent 60 days in a lockdown inpatient center. I did really well there. The girls came to admire me and I even served on the board. I came home 9 days ago...then I got a very painful ear infection from hell. I had wanted to reup for another 30 days. However the doc discovered a 3cm by 3cm lump in my left breast. Six years ago I had a precancerous one removed from my right breast,

Long story short...one night I escaped by drinking. I feel very guilty and ashamed. But I have pulled up myself by the bootstraps and am taking things one day one day at a time. I won't let my feelings of shame lead me back to drinking. it is simply not worth it. Thx for reading.

Sorry to hear what you are going through kricket68....Do you have some kind of plan for staying away from drinking? I went to rehab and they introduced me to AA....I haven't had a drink since...And I am enjoying life for the first time in a long time. I wish you the best!

Life keeps happening, kricket.

My recovery began in 1989 with a 90 day inpatient rehab. The Saturday I was done and "graduated" the priest who oversaw the rehab gave us all a copy of the little black "24 hrs a day" book and told us to go to AA... to get a sponsor and go to meetings regularly.

The Recovery Home I attended was not a lock-down, in fact the door was left wide open and if you left or got thrown out you didn't get back in. I had to begin to be responsible for me... to begin to live by someone else's rules.

I hope you realize that your 60 day rehab was just the beginning of your recovery process, to kinda get your feet on the ground. Now the daily work begins.
I couldn't do that daily work without AA and the 12 Steps.

I wish you the best. All will be just as it's supposed to be.

Welcome back...

I'm doing Chemo for lung cancer...and that would not be possible
if I was still a drinker Chemo has me "stable" today

The support of my fellow AA members help me in dealing with
this as well as other life's issues...

Mega and healing prayers coming your way
