I hope this "Honeymoon Phase" doesn't end.
I am spending today as I have been...I go to 2 AA meetings per day (Personal preference) and bowing out of cookouts that I have been invited to since I am so new to recovery. (Again, personal preference) Spending the day inbetween with my Mother and kids. There is a dear "Old timer" at my home group that says (after 52 years sober!!!) "Well....I didn't have to drink today and I'm not mad about it" ........Well, *I* don't feel the need to drink today, and I am not mad about it. Such a strange feeling; not being angry about not "getting" to drink. I have had such great support from some and then I have had people say that I am in a honeymoon phase. Well, whatever it is, I sure hope it doesn't end. It feels too good to be sober. I am so grateful that my thinking is at this point right now. Good luck to everyone today!

Good for you....
To keep my recovery flowing and growing...I find someone
new who is interested in the solution to share with.
Been working great for decades now...

What an uplifting post! It sounds like you know where you stand, and you're doing all the right things. Congratulations to you.
For me, the honeymoon phase never ended. Even after two and a half years, I still feel great every day, except for the little obstacles life throws in my way, but I know I don't have to drink because of them. Sure, I have my off days, but who doesn't? What a Joy to be sober and know instinctively how to deal with situations without picking up a drink.
I wish the same for you and a happy, sober, 4th.

I had people people early on tell me I was just on a pink cloud...Because I felt like you...I just got my one year coin and I still feel like that...I look back on it now and I think they said those things so I wouldn't lose that...And it worked. Does that make sense?

Well done Keva !!
All the best.

Well, I think most folks who've been away from the booze for a long time will tell you that the pink cloud does wear off. But that's a GOOD thing, because what it means is that you get comfortable with feeling healthy...it's simply less of a novelty.
But losing the pink cloud doesn't mean we forget how fortunate we are not to live anymore in the hell of addiction. For me, that fact still makes me smile.
