Hello
Hi and welcome determind
I merged a few of your threads - too many threads at once can be confusing for everyone - it's just easier for people to follow your story if you try to stick to one or two threads - at least in the beginning
I recommend you stay close to SR this weekend - it certainly helped me on my first weekend knowing there were people here who understood.
You'll get a few ideas on what to do and what to expect in the weeks to come too, I'm sure
Good to have you join us

If you like going out on the weekends to bars and such you may need to find other places to go where there isn't drinking. On a nice summer evening why not hang out at the local Coffee House and watch some good live music? Near the beach or water? Go to these places and get ice cream or other snacks and then walk the water.
I know this much, you need to get past the early cravings and withdrawals of addiction before you do much else. In the beginning I would suggest staying away from these places all together. Rent a movie, play a game, read a book. Early on, do whatever you think you can do that you never did while drinking.
Eventually you may be able to go places that you used to and be alright but not so soon.

My depression lifted rather quickly....that was the first positive thing that happened..
I quickly commected to a local AA group...so I spent lots
of time learning about recovery.
Added bonus...new sober friends to enjoy...
