Day 10 for a weekend drinker and it's Friday...
I hear this voice that says go ahead and jump off one night, you can do extra exercise tomorrow and work it off and go back to not drinking...until next weekend. I made it through last weekend. I really want to get through this one too. One day at a time. I can do this.

I was/am a big drinker myself. I'm on day 6 so I'm right there with you. I know it's not as "fun" but instead of getting sh*t Faced I'm going to the movies, grabbing a redbox movie on the way home and a lot of snacks!! Stay strong... I know it's hard. Usually by this time I'm about 6 or 7 beers in and on my way to a bender. We can do it!

Stay strong guitarwiz...play some tunes

Everyone who's made it has done so by getting past what you are going through. Like Dee said, stay strong. You'll regret drinking, no matter what you are telling yourself now. Plus, ten days is awesome!

Try going to an AA meeting,it's the best thing you can do for yourself.Be with people who have gone through this,it will be O.K.Nobody can beat this thing all by themselves,it's much stronger than any defense you can put up.

Like the others have said...
First of all...commit to not drinking. You drinking isn't going to happen by accident - it would be a decision made by you and only you. You're in charge here...don't forget it.
Keep busy. I used to head out to watch a movie or rent movies at home. I also used to go to bed really early...I used to think of it as crossing that finish line when my mantra was one day at a time.
These days my mantra is one lifetime at a time, so I've got a ways to go before I have to worry about drinking again.

The addictive voice or the obsession, put it at rest. Tell it maybe tomorrow you will indulge it, but for now, you choose not to give in.....just for today. (of course, by tomorrow, it will be today again!)
xa-speakers is back online. there's a bunch of speaker tapes on there. I just heard Bill D. speak....he was a producer for bands....quite funny, too. Lots of people on there telling their story....at least you won't drink for an hour!

I sure hope you kept your sober time runnning...it's the best decision I've ever made...
It did take me a few weeks of making positive changes before I settled into a
healthier lifestyle sans alcohol. Keep moving forward...
