Nice. The Big Book makes pretty simple. Two questions, not twenty.
Have you been able to stop drinking on your own resources?
Once you start drinking, can you control the amount you take?
If no, then you're probably alcoholic.
I had to quit complicating terms to finally accept I'm an alcoholic and can NEVER safely drink beverage alcohol.

Non alcoholics have absolutely NO IDEA how impossible it is to cut down, drink occasionally, only have a couple.
Its incomprehensible to them. Just let him know that this is life or death, and follow through. If he's a real supportive spouse, he will learn about the issue.
If he is saying that the test "would apply to anyone" that sends up a couple red flags. Is it possible that you might be shining a light on HIM having an issue by your own admission?

My partner didn't think I needed AA but I went for me. She now comes with me to open meetings and we both love it.
The point is it isn't for him, it's for you. And you deserve peace.

Thanks for all the replies. It's so strange reading how things were a year ago. I never did manage to stay stopped! Finally quit yesterday. .so today is the start of my day 2.
Things only got worse. ..you were all so right when you said it was a progressive disease.
As hubby is away until Friday I have a few days to get some meetings in before needing to address the AA issue. ... dreading it!
I am stopping this time though. ..and staying stopped!
