my eyes were dead when i came into recovery 8 months ago..8 months later der much clearer and ders life in them.. I see this too when ppl come 2 meetings der eyes are so clear and shinnin.. do ye believe in this?...nd do u think ur eyes get clearer with more sobriety each day?

I sure do Manunited! When I was drinking, I looked and felt dead inside. It showed itself in many ways, but especially my eyes. They never lie. No matter what trials and tribulations I face in life, I'm grateful to have that brightness back.

Not only that, but your vision will improve.

We were told in rehab not to buy new glasses for one year, since our prescription would need to be changed. Lo and behold, my correction was downgraded (= my eyesight got better) at the next vision check.

And then there is the fact of looking people in the eye directly, without dodginess...which I also noticed.

For sure and without a doubt. I don't have the best eyesight anyway, but everything does appear more sharp. I feel that the "whites" of my eyes actually look brighter also. NO MORE FOG!!

My eye glasses prescription didn't change but at my last visit to the optometrist she made the comment my overall eye health had actually improved.

I know exactly what you mean! I can look in the mirror and no longer see 'zombie eyes'. In fact all of my physical appearance has improved. I actually look like a healthy human being again.
