Day 3 Exhausted and Scared and Surrendered
I'm on Day 3...
I'm exhausted and scared and making a real effort to combat my alcoholism this time. I'm going to do therapy and I need to find AA meetings in my area. I'm having trouble finding AA meetings though. =(
I'm very scared and I feel alone. I just want to exist normally in this world - that's all I ever wanted and it's so hard. I'm trying to hold back my tears as I write this because I need to go to class soon.
I surrender to God. God, please get me through this and please help me. I surrender to Your will. I can't take this anymore. I need help.

welcome back to SR....
day 3 is a good beginning....and you are still in the initial de tox
part of quitting. Please don't hesitate to call your doctor or head
to an ER if you get into trouble with any symptoms.
Please read the link below for info and some of our expereinces......
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...at-we-did.html
Drink a lot of water...rest if you can't sleep....try short walks...eat small non spicey food...cutting out caffeine is also good.,,it makes you jittery
To find your local AA meetings.....I suggest you look in your hard copy phone book. If they are not listed call your
doctor...hospital....health department and often the police know. Hard to guess.....as I don't know hwat country or area you live in.
Here is a link to the AA site...they also have info on where to find meeting world wide...not sure how up to date they are

Surrendering is always necessary before you can effectively cope with any challenge in life, so it's wonderful that youv'e done that. It feels good to let it go and let god take over. I try not to fight against anything, but to accept it, surrender to it and let it go if there doesn't seem to be a way to resolve it at the moment. That is when creative solutions come to us. When we get into the fighting mode it's a constant struggle and who wants to live like that? I know that you feel like you can't live "normally", but you can definitely live peacefully and joyfully. Take it one moment at a time....not even a day at a time...
Hang in there! Snacks and naps, baths and showers, walks and movies if you feel up to it.
For me it helps to spend time with an animal: horse, dogs, whatever. They are always sober and happy! And ready for fun...
And keep posting. Best wishes to you my friend!!

Not sure where you are located, but I travel a lot on business and I try to hit an AA meeting in every town. I just google:
"ThisTown, ThisState AA Meetings"
I have rarely struck out, even in very small towns.

Unless you are somewhere in the wilderness there is probably an AA meeting near you. That's one of the things I really like about AA, no matter where I travel I can find a meeting. And when I go to a meeting in a strange place I'm welcomed like a family member.
